Events/Projects Manager, Office of the President
Job Description
**The Office of the President** invites applications for the **Events/Projects Manager** (Program Manager) to oversee and coordinate all aspects and logistics of campus events hosted by the Office of the President. This includes large community events hosted by the campus, including guest speakers, Board of Regents meetings, and special ceremonies. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
* Developing, managing, organizing, promoting, facilitating and coordinating events;
* Developing and tracking events budgets;
* Designing and revising plans and layouts for different events;
* Overseeing timelines and supervising activities to ensure all contractual obligations are met;
* Serving as the event liaison providing guidance and information to attendees; and
* Ensuring a high standard of quality client/customer satisfaction is achieved.
The person in this position works directly with the Operations and Engagement Manager, Chief of Staff, President and First Lady to meet their expectations for each event. The person in this position also provides intermittent administrative support to the President, First Lady and Chief of Staff; serves on a variety of short- and long-term Campus planning committees; works with a high degree of autonomy, both independently and as a member of a team; and attends weekly staff meetings and has weekly one-on-one meetings with the Operations and Engagement Manager.
This position requires incumbent to develop a thorough understanding of the mission, programs and protocols of the Office of the President, and an overall understanding of the Montana University System and its policies, procedures and processes.

* Ability to maintain professional composure with diverse groups and individuals, including students, faculty, staff and general public.
* Excellent proofreading and editorial skills.
* Ability to multi-task and effectively handle high-pressure situations.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software including Word, Excel, Outlook.
* Effective time management skills and strong attention to detail.
* Ability to plan and execute details meticulously.
* Ability to conduct oneself professionally in all situations and maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
* Demonstrated budget development skills.
* Experience reviewing and approving contracts with speakers, hotels, and other campus departments.
* Advanced problem and conflict resolution skills.
* Advanced knowledge of and experience with managing and negotiating contracts and maintaining effective relationships with vendors.
* Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
# Minimum Required Experience
* High school diploma (or equivalency) in addition to five (5) years of closely related experience; or any combination of experience and education that provides the competencies necessary to successfully handle the duties and responsibilities assigned to the position.

* Knowledge of campus.

**Position Title:** **Events/Projects Manager (Program Manager)**

**Department:** Office of the President
**Work Schedule:** Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Typical schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, but may differ due to events, 12 months/year.
**Salary:** **$17.345/hr**- _ Current employee's rate of pay for this position will be determined by the staff compensation plan and may be different from the posted salary.__For questions and details regarding the staff compensation plan, email the Compensation Department._

**Probationary Period:** Six months minimum
