BLM is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to join the team to serve as an Information Receptionist, for the Montana State Office, Division of Support Services. This position is located in Billings, Montana. Information about the Billings area can be found at www.billingschamber.com.

### Responsibilities
The incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of duties including, but not limited to the following:
* Serving as the primary point of contact for individuals entering the main front entrance of the co-located Montana/Dakotas BLM and Custer/Gallatin National Forest facility.
* Following established office security procedures by checking in visitors, verifying identity through appropriate picture identification card; completing daily visitor log; issuing appropriate building access badge; directing to appropriate office location and employee.
* Responding to requests in person and over the phone from the public for general BLM and Forest Service information and assistance.
* Completing routine requests and tasks such as mailings, transmittal of records to Federal Records Center, forms, and routine documents as well as other clerical duties.
* Utilizing automated equipment (hardware/software), data systems, and applications to accomplish the duties of this position.

### Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following qualification requirements:
* 6 months of general experience. Examples of general experience include progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, OR
* Successful completion of one year of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite.
**Equivalent combinations of post-high school education and specialized experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.**
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
